Located in Boulder, Colorado, there is a lot to take photos of. It was during the pandemic that I learned how much photography can be used as a form of expression, documentation, and self-care. I learned pretty quickly that film photography brings me so much joy. Actual radiating moments of joy and happiness. Planning my next photo walk or photo project quickly became what I would wake up thinking about. Although not every shot comes out as expected, I use it as a reminder to let go and be in the moment. Each photo offers excitement as I line up the shot and adjust the settings with the result being a mystery until it is developed. Honestly, the developing part is more a lesson in patience. Film photography is my excuse for constantly seeking nature and a mindful way to appreciate beauty around me unapologetically. In this crazy busy world, with a camera in my hand, I can slow down and appreciate the little (or big) things that might go unnoticed day-to-day.
