I've been working in textiles since I was a child, learning to use the sewing machine at 7 or 8 years old, learning to embroider from my neighbor — a little old lady from Liverpool, England, teaching myself how to weave tapestries in high school, studying in Japan for a year in college, and taking everything I've learned to make art dolls and improvisational collaged embroideries. I am nurtured by the natural world of trees, leaves, the clouds, flowers, insects, birds, and sometimes people. It's always an adventure!
